Identity provenance
Service ensign: St Andrew's ensign — naval ensign of the Russian Federation. Drawn by Vigil to the geometry the 1992 readoption specifies — white field, blue saltire, band width one tenth of the fly, 2:3. Drawn rather than supplied because this geometry is fully specified; no image file is involved in this record.
State affiliation: Russia.
The smaller square mark is a Vigil category device, drawn from this record’s own domain, echelon and role — not an official insignia.
In brief

Broad area of activity
Four fleets and a flotilla; the Black Sea Fleet carries the war, with Kalibr shooters distributed across them.
Notable history
Its war is the Black Sea Fleet's war: Kalibr strikes on Ukraine from the sea since 2022, set against the progressive loss of surface units, basing and freedom of manoeuvre to a country without a fleet — the most studied naval story of the century so far.
Strengths
Kalibr strike reach from survivable submarine platforms; fleets outside the theatre remain untouched.
Limitations
Montreux closes the straits to reinforcement; Black Sea attrition is unrecoverable in-theatre; shipbuilding replaces losses slowly.

Rows are layout only — position and order carry no hierarchy, importance, sequence or strength. Every record shown is an immediate subordinate of the selected organisation. Headings are derived from each record’s own type and echelon. They are not command layers, and no such layer exists in the force tree.
