Ukrainian drones and missiles struck the port of Novorossiysk overnight into 12 August 2026, hitting the naval base and port infrastructure. Local officials reported three people killed, including a child, and at least 24 wounded; four industrial enterprises, more than two dozen residential buildings and educational facilities were reported damaged, and the port declared an emergency. Two grain terminals — the Novorossiysk Grain Terminal and NKHP — suspended operations; reporting puts their combined annual export capacity above 15 million tonnes, against a port through which up to a third of Russian grain exports move. Wheat futures rose around three per cent. President Zelensky said Ukrainian forces had targeted air-defence positions, piers and seaport infrastructure and had hit two frigates, a landing ship, a corvette and other vessels; Russia's defence ministry said it had downed 502 Ukrainian drones overnight. Damage to individual vessels is claimed by one belligerent and is not independently established. Ukrainian drones struck the Baltic oil export port of Ust-Luga on the night of 13–14 August, causing a fire; a Russian strike damaged infrastructure at Odesa port in the same period.
