In brief

- Broad area of activity
- Bydgoszcz, Poland. NATO describes its function as tactical-level joint training with an emphasis on interoperability at the critical interfaces between forces.
- Notable history
- One of the three centres NATO's transformation command has carried since the 2002 Prague decision to organise the command structure by function, formed in 2004 and, by its own account, the first NATO command-structure body established in central and eastern Europe. It shares Bydgoszcz with the NATO–Ukraine centre opened in 2025, which makes the city the alliance's training and lessons node inside this theatre.
- Strengths
- Seat. Almost every alliance body this module reads against is outside the theatre; this one trains at the tactical level inside Poland, and NATO's page ties its work to the interfaces where multinational formations meet — the problem every battlegroup in this module has.
- Limitations
- A training centre under the transformation command, not an operational body: nothing it does establishes a command relationship over any formation, and it publishes no roster of what it trains. Its own site was not read, so its own account of its work is not carried.
