- Broad area of activity
- Bydgoszcz, Poland, alongside the Joint Force Training Centre. Its subject is the war in Ukraine and Ukrainian interoperability with allied forces, not a geography.
- Notable history
- Inaugurated on 17 February 2025 by NATO's Deputy Secretary General, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation and Poland's defence minister. The Polish ministry describes it as the first concrete NATO institution created together by NATO and Ukraine, meant to support the Ukrainian armed forces towards full interoperability and to exchange experience in both directions; NATO's structure page now lists it under the transformation command beside the three older centres.
- Strengths
- It is the institutional form of the alliance's claim to be learning from the war next door: a standing joint body, staffed by both sides, inside a NATO command, in the same city as the alliance's tactical training centre. For this module it is the closest thing to a channel through which what Ukraine has learned reaches the headquarters that read this theatre.
- Limitations
- A centre under the transformation command, not an operational body, and a young one: nothing it does establishes a command relationship, and its outputs are not public. Its own pages are closed to tools, so its self-description rests on the host ministry's notice.
