In brief

The land service, which the armed forces describe in one sentence as the force that provides defence on the ground when threats affect Sweden. No regiment or brigade is named on the armed forces’ organisation pages, and this record is childless for that reason.

Broad area of activity
Sweden’s land territory, including Gotland. The armed forces state that the Army provides defence on the ground when threats affect Sweden and contributes to international missions, and stop there.
Notable history
The Army entered the alliance with Sweden on 7 March 2024 as a service rebuilt from the post-Cold War minimum, a rebuilding that is reported everywhere except on the pages this module is allowed to count. Its accession-era role is visible only at the edges of this module: Sweden is the framework nation of the multinational battlegroup in Finland, whose headquarters the armed forces themselves placed at Rovaniemi in July 2026, and Swedish forces exercise with Finnish brigades on the Finnish side of the border, as those brigades’ own pages report.
Strengths
Position, again. An army on the western shore of the Baltic and on Gotland, inside the alliance, converts the sea from a flank into an interior line for the allied states around it, and the framework-nation role in Finland shows the service being used exactly that way.
Limitations
A service whose own organisation pages name no unit. Everything a reader would want — brigades, regiments, the re-established garrisons — is absent from the armed forces’ structure pages in both languages, and this record refuses to reconstruct it from reporting. The garrison sub-estate noted on the root record was not reopened here.
