AssessmentModerate confidence

No financials and no forecasts. A record carries what a published source states about an organisation, its published facilities and its dated claims, with each claim kept apart by kind. Nothing here is a view on any company.

What this organisation is

Rheinmetall is the German defence manufacturer at the centre of the eastern flank's ammunition rebuild. One of its plants in this module is commissioned: the Unterlüß facility in Lower Saxony, opened in August 2025. Everything else the company has published about its European output — 140,000 rounds at Unterlüß in 2026, 350,000 a year from 2027, group output of around 1.5 million shells a year from 2027, and a Lithuanian plant at Baisogala that broke ground in November 2025 — is a target or an announcement, and this record keeps each apart from what has been delivered. The one delivery it records is the company's own: on 14 July 2026 it reported the first 155 mm projectiles shipped from Unterlüß to Ukraine. It also appears in the equipment catalogue as a co-producer of the Boxer and PzH 2000 families.

The organisation whose stated output is the test of whether the five per cent commitment becomes delivered capability on the timescale the regional plans assume. ANNOUNCED IS NOT DELIVERED: the module reads its figures as the company's own, graded by kind.

Published facilities

Each is a marker the module already publishes; the relationship is this record’s own claim, with its own grade and source.

What it produces

A producer edge says this organisation makes this equipment family. It is not a quantity, a rate or a delivery; those are dated claims below.

Dated claims — announced against delivered

Each claim carries its own kind. Nothing here is summed, and an announcement never counts as output.

2026-09Target Confidence: Moderate

140,000 rounds at Unterlüß in 2026 and 350,000 a year from 2027 — the company's stated output figures, not output.

2026-07Delivered Confidence: High

First deliveries of 155 mm RH1412 projectiles from Unterlüß to Ukraine, a low five-figure number with propellant charges from other company sites; the company says more than half of that order has been delivered and the rest is due by the end of 2026. The customer and financing are not stated.

2025-11Announcement Confidence: Moderate

The Baisogala plant in Lithuania broke ground in November 2025; the company says operations during 2026 with line qualification to year-end and a ramp from 2027, while one executive has said early 2027. No source read in September 2026 says it is operating.

What remains unknown

  • The only Unterlüß delivery recorded is the company's July 2026 report of a low five-figure number of projectiles to Ukraine; no delivered quantity to any eastern-flank force is recorded.
  • The Baisogala plant's operating status is unestablished as of September 2026; the company's own statements differ on the date.
