Battlefield role

For remnant cells, the standoff weapon of a force that cannot mass: ambush, intimidation and area denial along the eastern roads. For everyone else, a lethal legacy — contamination that kills returnees and slows every recovery file.

Strengths

Cheap, deniable and persistent; effective against the soft civilian and logistics traffic a recovering east depends on.

Limitations

Clearance capacity, tip-offs from communities hostile to the remnants since 2026, and the shrinking sanctuary in which devices can be produced and moved.
