- Belgian airspace — the component "watches over our airspace, guarantees national sovereignty, and supports the other armed forces" — and the combined Benelux quick-reaction alert alternated with the Netherlands.
- Примітна історія
- The component describes its structure as five air bases and nine types of aircraft and helicopters, and its roles as fighter aircraft for the protection of airspace, rescue helicopters based at Koksijde, A400M transport aircraft, MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft and multi-role tanker transports, with a Meteo Wing and an Air Competence Centre named beside them. The one structural relationship it states is the Benelux agreement under which "the QRA principle is alternately ensured by Belgium and the Netherlands" — the arrangement that makes two small fighter forces one continuous alert.
- Сильні сторони
- A shared alert with the Netherlands, and the air-transport and tanker roles that matter to a reinforcement theatre more than a small fighter force's own numbers.
- Обмеження
- Wings, squadrons and four of the five bases are not named, aircraft numbers are not authored, and the component's contribution to allied air policing on the flank is not stated on the page. The record is a description of roles, not an order of battle.
