- Istotna historia
- Founded on 30 June 1992 in the National Guard’s first year, reorganised into the district structure on 1 December 2003 and restored as the 3rd Latgale Brigade on 3 January 2018. Nothing in its published lineage is unusual; what makes it matter is where it is. It is the territorial formation of the region that the Latvian eastern frontier records in this module describe, and the one whose peacetime and wartime tasks overlap with the border most directly.
