- Historically the Euphrates corridor from al-Bukamal to the Lebanese border, Damascus and its southern approaches, and the Aleppo countryside; at present, wherever a seizure or arrest is announced — no area is authored.
- Historique notable
- From 2012 Iran built in Syria the most elaborate external military structure of its Axis: Quds Force advisers, Hezbollah's expeditionary force, Iraqi and Afghan militias under Iranian direction, and a land corridor from the Iraqi border at al-Bukamal to Lebanon that carried personnel, weapons and money. The structure existed to keep the Assad government in power and to arm Hezbollah, and it did both for a decade. It collapsed in weeks: Israel's 2024 campaign against Hezbollah removed the expeditionary force, the government's fall on 8 December 2024 removed the host, and the Iranian and militia presence left or dispersed as the new authorities took the border. The transitional government has since treated the remnant as a security problem — announcing seizures of weapons bound for Hezbollah, arrests of cells, the closure of border tunnels and, in 2026, the disruption of plots in Quneitra and Damascus — and has said publicly that it stands with Lebanon in disarming Hezbollah. What reporting describes as remaining is a quieter thing: facilitators rather than battalions, smuggling runs rather than convoys, cells stitched from Assad-era remnants and veteran traffickers. Whether that adds up to a network Iran can rebuild through, or to the residue of one it has lost, is the open question this record refuses to close.
- Points forts
- As a legacy: a decade of built relationships, routes and local intermediaries that do not vanish with a government, and an Iranian record — in Yemen above all — of sustaining supply lines through collapsed states.
- Limites
- No host, no acknowledged presence, and a Syrian government that has made hunting the remnant part of its regional positioning; a corridor whose Syrian end is now held by a state hostile to it. Nothing here is verifiable at present, which is why the grade is low and the grouping has no members.

A decade of network-building in Syria lost its position with the fall of Damascus. What survived is contested and is recorded as such on the actor profile.
