- Mikkeli, Finland, co-located with the Finnish Army Command. The Finnish Army states its task as command and control of the alliance's land forces and synchronisation of national land forces' operations in the northern area; NATO names the battlegroup in Finland as the one it leads.
- Historique notable
- The newest headquarters in this module and the first NATO land command established in Finland. It began operating on 1 September 2025 with a staff of eight and was inaugurated on 3 October 2025, eighteen months after Finnish accession. The Finnish Army states that its core staff takes part in the Army Command's own divisions and in alliance meetings, and that its task includes planning, preparing and directing the alliance's combined exercise activity in the north — a description of a headquarters being built, not of one already at scale.
- Points forts
- It is the only headquarters on NATO's eastern-flank page for which the verb is "lead command", and it is the multi-corps echelon — above corps, below the joint force command — that the northern land theatre lacked before 2025. Co-location with the Finnish Army Command puts the alliance's northern land staff inside the host's own.
- Limites
- "Lead command for" a battlegroup is recorded at that strength and not as command of it; the Swedish-framework battlegroup in Finland remains a framework-nation formation. The headquarters started at eight people and its growth is a plan. Neither NATO nor Finland publishes the command it answers to, so its own superior is left open here.

NATO's own verb for this relationship is "is the lead command for". Its heading states that regionally focused headquarters "contribute to the operation, training and preparation activities" of the battlegroups. The edge is graded at exactly that strength: the authority is unspecified because NATO specifies none, and nothing here is command, operational control or a transfer of authority.

Le Multi-Corps Land Component Command Northwest devient opérationnel à Mikkeli, en Finlande, conjointement avec le commandement de l’armée de terre finlandaise, et est officiellement inauguré en octobre. L’OTAN crée les Forward Land Forces Finland, neuvième groupement tactique multinational de l’Alliance, dirigé par la Suède comme nation-cadre, afin de renforcer la dissuasion et la défense le long du flanc nord-est. L’OTAN publie le Danemark, la France, l’Islande, l’Italie, la Norvège et le Royaume-Uni comme nations contributrices. L’OTAN ne publie ni garnison, ni unité chef de file, ni quartier général pour cette formation ; les forces armées suédoises indiquent que son quartier général se trouve à Rovaniemi et que la contribution de la Suède, un groupement tactique de niveau bataillon basé à Boden, est sous commandement de l’OTAN depuis le 6 juin.
