- Not territorial; publicly claimed operations have ranged from the occupied south and Crimea to Russian territory. Nothing about units, bases or methods is authored.

- Established as a separate branch in January 2016 out of the Ground Forces' special-purpose regiments, with NATO advisory support that shaped it on the model of a joint special-operations command rather than the Soviet spetsnaz pattern it inherited. The branch's public record since 2022 is what its own command has chosen to claim: reconnaissance and raids behind the lines in the 2022 counteroffensives, the Snake Island and Kinburn operations, resistance-movement work in the occupied south, and, from 2023, long-range strike and sabotage that public reporting attributes to it alongside Defence Intelligence and the Security Service. The 2025–26 reorganisation of the Armed Forces around corps left the branch's separate status intact.

عملية «فيفالدي» تستعيد أرضًا شمال ليمان
كشف الفيلق 3 الأوكراني في 15 سبتمبر 2026 عن عملية سمّاها «فيفالدي»، نسبةً إلى «الفصول الأربعة»، كان قد أدارها سرًّا في قطاع ليمان منذ أواخر مايو. وأعلن أربع مراحل بين 15 سبتمبر و14 أكتوبر، وقال في 19 أكتوبر إن العملية اكتملت وإن خطه على نهر تشورني جيريبيتس. يدّعي الفيلق 277 كم² و16 بلدة — تسع استُعيدت من الاحتلال، وسبع طُهّرت من التسلل. والخرائط المستقلة أدنى رقمًا ومتأخرة: فقد وجد Institute for the Study of War ما لا يقل عن 147 كم² حول ليمان أصبحت مرئية حديثًا في خرائطه لشهر سبتمبر، وأكدت DeepState القرى المسماة مرحلةً بعد مرحلة. ويقول الفيلق إنه ضرب اللوجستيات الروسية ووحدات المسيّرات في عمق المؤخرة قبل تحرك مدرعاته؛ وقدّر ISW أن أوكرانيا حيّدت على الأرجح الدفاعات الروسية القائمة على المسيّرات شمال ليمان قبل المرحلة الثالثة. وفي 9 أكتوبر قدّر ISW أن العملية هزمت الذراع الشمالية لمحاولة روسية لتطويق سلوفيانسك وكراماتورسك، ووصف ذلك بأنه فشل عملياتي لروسيا.
